Celebrating one local life by supporting two local causes.
At Craig’s Walk, we raise funds and support for Special Olympics Oklahoma
and Chickasha High School Scholarships in honor of Craig Meyer.
In the spirit of community.
The people of Oklahoma are known for their sense of community and for coming together in difficult times. When Craig passed away, we felt deep gratitude for the many ways our local community showed up for us. It’s our honor to pay it forward to these worthy causes.
We would love for you to join us!
We know there are many deserving causes fighting for your attention, and it can be hard to choose where to spend your time and money. When you choose Craig’s Walk, you choose to support local high school students as they pursue higher education and individuals living with intellectual disabilities in Oklahoma.

Annual Craig Meyer Memorial Walk for Special Olympics
A 125-mile charity walk from Chickasha, OK, to Stillwater, OK, spanning six days. All funds raised go to Special Olympics Oklahoma.
Craig began volunteering for Special Olympics Oklahoma in third grade and remained passionate about their work throughout his life. We celebrate Craig’s life by continuing to raise funds and awareness for this deserving cause.
Why Special Olympics?
Any law enforcement officer who has a passion for a charity (mine is Special Olympics) has had their “WOW” moment.
Mine came in May of 1984. An officer friend of mine from Edmond Police Department invited me to go to Oklahoma Special Olympics Summer Games being held at The University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond.
We went to the gym, where athletes were participating in rhythmic gymnastics. It was a young girl’s turn. She did her routine with a ribbon on a pole and a ball to music. She never missed a beat! Never dropped the ball. I knew I wanted to meet this young lady.
We started towards the gym floor. Her mother stopped us and told us we had to be careful with the way we approached her. Mom told us her daughter not only had an intellectual disability, she was also legally deaf and blind.
I was overwhelmed with emotion. I asked how they communicated? She said by touch. I still couldn’t believe what I was seeing.
I told her mother at that time, “If she can put forth that much effort to complete her routine with no mistakes, I can put forth effort to raise money and awareness for Oklahoma Special Olympics.” That was 40+ years ago, and I’m still doing it today.

Craig Meyer Memorial Scholarship Fund
This scholarship fund helps Chickasha High School graduates pursue higher education.
Craig was a Chickasha High School alumnus. We see pieces of him in the many incredible students who walk the halls today. Together, we can empower them to pursue their dreams and remove some of the barriers they face to attending college.
Let’s rally together for these local causes.
We know you work hard for your money, and your time is precious.
We also know how much you love this community, just as we do. When you support Craig’s Walk, you have the opportunity to invest in the lives of local community members. Your generosity changes lives.
Let’s celebrate Craig and support our local community.
